2015 Cherubs and Charmers Calendar Contest
We would like to thank all our beautiful babies for participating
in our 6th annual facebook calendar contest.
While only the top 12 votes made it in the calendar we truly believe that all are
winners and couldn’t get any cuter with such adorable antics, and expressions.
We had a blast in the camera room with the cherubs and charmers!
May each and everyone grow up to stay just as adorable and sweet as they are now.
And the winner is Kian
Thank You parents for your support and being so awesome during a few bumps in the road during the week of voting.
Sincerely, ~ Sandy & Barb
Fort Myers, Florida Family Photographers and Portrait Artist for Christmas Cards
Meet “Rusty”. a vintage Ford, and the newest member of our SandBar Family.
We love everything about him. He brings so much character, texture, history,
and style to every photograph.
We feel that he is a perfect fit as Fort Myers is not only the winter home of
Thomas Edison but just next door Henry Ford as well as the first Ford dealership in America.
If you are looking for something a little more classic and different to make your
Christmas stand out this year, include Rusty. He will be wearing his Holiday Cheer.
Can’t wait to see what Sandy is planning to do with him for the season.
“And the rest is rust and stardust”
Fort Myers, Florida, Sanibel, Captiva, Boca Grande, Estero Island, Marco Island, Southwest Florida Photographers.
Living in Southwest Florida one of the many attractions are our beaches.
It is the place where families often gather for vacation.
When you think of it, it is also an opportune time to capture those memories.
Just off the West Coast of Florida between Sarasota and Naples are some of this states’ best islands.
Boca Grande, Upper and Lower Captiva, Sanibel, Estero Island and Marco.
All are quite quaint with different personalities.
Each one unique and some of our favorite spots for photos.
The Plachetka Family scheduled with Sandy before they left Illinois
requesting a Generational Session.
We suggested Light House Beach on Sanibel Island.
We used the Sanibel Causeway as a backdrop
as well as the approaching luminous clouds framed by the lush vegetation.
No matter the conditions, Sandy can always capture a little magic.
This is the blessing of having a talented artist as a business partner.
Below are some photos from that day.
Creating “ART” from life is our goal with every portrait.
Time stops for no one but there are moments that
can be caught and will live on to cherish forever.
Planning a photo session might be something to consider for your next family vacation.
Fort Myers Photographer earns International Print Merits!
International and State Print Competition can be intense in our industry, it requires pushing oneself to excellence in all areas of making that final print. Every minuet decision will be judged.

This year here are some more of the images that Barb submitted and received recognition for.
First named “Lee County Lineman” and then changed to “Storm Chaser” for more impact! Their are 12 different elements to judging a print and naming it is one important factor.
Torey is one of Lee County’s dedicated Lineman and has a mother in law that asked him to model for her.

“My Lips Are Sealed”
Little Jace came into studio with his three brothers for a newborn photography session and was so adorable he had to be photographed individually. Obliviously it was the right decision, and international print merit doesn’t come easy!
“Asking For Answers”
Aren’t we all asking for answers, this image is special because it’s Barb’s brother and shortly after he had a heart attack while at work. Another reminder that life is precious and time stops for no one.
Billy is a minister and a talented musician, he has since recovered and is doing well.
Here at SandBar we are always looking for unique subjects, ideas or people to photograph. It helps us to constantly push our limits of creativity and keep on top of our industry. If you or someone you know would like to model for us please feel free to send us a picture thru email or give us a call.
Digital Hot Potato Fun Photo Game
Pull out a camera with a timer for this twist on a classic party game that produces priceless keepsakes.
As a Children’s Photographer, I am always looking for creative ways to document family gatherings and capture fun moments.
Many times I give McKenzie, my 5 yr old granddaughter, one of my small digital cameras and let her take photos from her perspective.
I found a little camera game that will catch unexpected moments and wanted to share something FUN to do with Family this Easter Sunday.
The above ‘selfie’ of McKenzie was caught during the game.

How to play
- To Play: The first player sets the camera timer for the longest setting available and starts the countdown. He points the camera at himself for a couple of seconds, then passes it to the person on his left. The other players do the same until the camera snaps a shot. The person whose photo is taken must share it with the group, then perform a forfeit or tell something funny about himself before play resumes. The last person to avoid having his picture taken wins.

Enjoy!

As many of you know, Barb and I are members of our local professional photography guild here in Southwest Florida. Last night was our first Print Competition of the Year and we each entered six images.
We were so excited to have Merited on 7 out of the 12 entered, and three of those received placement awards!
It is our goal to continue to perfect our craft by entering images into local, state, and international competitions. We are eager to hear the judges’ critiques and are able to learn and grow from them.
